In recent years, there have been a lot of food safety problems such as Bisphenol A (BPA) and Plasticizer released from plastics products, and the food containers, for instance, food storage containers and baby feeding bottles, are replacing with glass products gradually. However, presently there are few heat-resistant glass products with stable quality on the market. TGI views it as the moment to enter this market. On February 8, 2012, TGI’s Board of Directors resolved to approve this project to invest NT$ 588,000,000 in rebuilding furnaces TS-10/TS-11 of heat-resistant Kitchenware in Hsinchu Factory. It will be rebuilt from Blowing to IS and Press production lines. It is scheduled to start production in January of 2013.
