Transcend is the only manufacture making the proprietary memory card in Taiwan, and is the global top three manufacture in this field. The main design concepts of the Transcend building are”sustainability, innovation, and high-tech.”
Being innovative means to create knowledge by blending the traditional wisdom; therefore, the design uses traditional stone cladding to combine high-tech frameless structural glass to represent the enterprise’s spirit.
At the same time, in order to implement the sustainability concept to maintain the environmental quality of the earth, insulating glass is used in this frameless structural glass curtain wall. The structural glass design in this project is particular about the visual penetrability and simplicity.

| The metal clamps grap each piece of glass. The clamps then are fixed to the top and bottom chords of the vertical trusses; which which is to say the wind load, gravity pressed on the glasses, will be transferred to these vertical trusses through the clamps. Vertical trusses include two crescent shape steel piping trusses and five secondary steel rod trusses. Horizontal cables are braced fixed inbetween the vertical trusses to stable the condition. These cables are pre-stressed to let them stay in right tension under wind load and dead load. With this design, the components of the curtain wall took the minimum area, and acquired the visual penetrability and simplicity of our vision. |
